The Phobians boss says he is satisfied with the performance of his charges despite throwing away two points on opening day

Hearts of Oak coach Henry Wellington insists he is not frustrated with his side's 1-1 stalemate against Eleven Wonders on Sunday in their first match of the 2017-18 Ghana Premier League season.

Winful Cobbinah shot the Phobians into the lead before the league's former top scorer Alex Asamoah fetched the equaliser for the hosts late in the game, preventing the visitors from claim victory in the Brong Ahafo region in three decades.

“I must say the game was very good and like I said the other time, this game was a mirror of the friendly game we played in midweek but only that what I wanted in terms of the results, I did not get," Wellington told the club's website.

"But I will take the point. I wanted a win but I had a draw and who am I to say I do not need the draw. I must take it like that.

“I have studied Eleven Wonders a little bit so I know about their defenders and the way they play. I told our strikers Esso and Selasie to be going forward with the ball and that was what Esso did to win the penalty in the sixth minute that we scored," he added.

Wellington was impressed with the fans that travelled to cheer up the players, promising that they would have a wonderful campaign.

"I was impressed with the turn up of the fans today. Most of them came from Kumasi and other places. I was very impressed and I must say that they should continue like that.

“I like their support and they should continue like that. I know the fans saw what we did and we will give them more than that in the next games," he said.

Hearts will play Ashanti Gold at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium next weekend following the temporal closure of the Accra Sports Stadium for renovations.
