The goalkeeper maintains nerves are not playing a part for the Reds as they go toe-to-toe with Manchester City in the title race

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is still confident of the club claiming their first top-flight title for 29 years despite a recent wobble.

Manchester City's 2-0 win at Everton on Wednesday saw the defending champions regain top spot from the Reds for the first time in almost two months.

City have played a game more – the trip to Goodison Park was moved forward on account of them reaching the EFL Cup final later this month – but Liverpool's back-to-back 1-1 draws having led against Leicester City and West Ham left the door ajar.

Jurgen Klopp's men will play their game in hand at Manchester United but first must host Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday.

Asked whether nerves are beginning to affect his team-mates, Brazil international Alisson told Sky Sports: "I wouldn't say anything on the matter. We believe we can win the league.

"We've shown in the past that we're good enough and we'll continue to show this in the games we've got to come.

"Our pressure is the same. We take things game by game without worrying about what our opponents are doing.

"Everyone wants to win this league but at Liverpool our concern is winning games and not dropping points.

"We don't think about Man City, we think about ourselves. We only think about what we can do and how things are moving forward."

The Brazil international is in his first season at Anfield after a then-record breaking £67 million ($86m) move from Roma.

The move has paid dividends in year one, as the Reds have conceded just 15 goals in their 25 Premier League games, which is topp of the league.

And Alisson is determined to complete his debut season with the club with the Reds long-sought after Premier League title, though he knows Liverpool must keep their eyes on their next match.

Alisson added: "I really want to win the Premier League with Liverpool. We need to win games and we need to focus on our next opponent.

"To get back to the top of the league we need to win games - that comes from hard work, starting on Saturday."
