The midfielder showed off some skill in delivering a sweet goal in a preseason friendly.

It hasn’t always been easy for San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Tommy Thompson to find a regular spot in his side’s starting lineup, but if he keeps finishing off chances like he did in a friendly Saturday, that may change.

Thompson, who has started 13 games for his side over the past two seasons, turned on the class for a slick finish in a match against USL side Reno 1868 FC.

Goals like that are sure to catch the eye of Earthquakes boss Dominic Kinnear as the former U.S. youth international looks to turn 2017 into a breakout campaign.
