Zulia's Copa Libertadores clash with Nacional ended in disgraceful circumstances, as the players rounded on the linesman after a late goal was ruled out for offside.

Full-back Pedro Cordero had put the ball in the net in the Copa Libertadores Group 7 clash, which would have given Zulia a great chance of progression to the knockout stages, but saw his effort ruled out by the assistant.

Zulia's players then surrounded the official, with goalkeeper Renny Vega also involved in the melee after he came up for the stoppage time corner. The assistant was pushed during the commotion, which saw Cesar Daniel Gomez sent off.

The Venezuelan side still have a narrow chance of reaching the next stage of the competition, but need a win over Chapecoense in their final group game.
