At 37 years old Tim Cahill is still thrilling A-League crowds and he helped ensure the regular season ended with a bang as his Melbourne City played out a nine-goal extravaganza against Perth Glory.

After Diego Castro's penalty, Cahill levelled matters with a fine finish from the edge of the box, only to see the hosts fire in another three goals.

With 10 minutes left, he gave his side another chance, and they came even closer with a third from Nicolas Colazo.

When Perth went 5-3 up, the game looked done and dusted, but a 90th minute goal from Nick Fitzgerald ensured Melbourne went down swinging.
