Johan Cruyff will forever be remembered as a pioneer of the footballing world and one of the greatest players and coaches to ever grace the game.

An iconic figure of the modern era burst onto the scene in his homeland with Ajax, with his exploits in Amsterdam securing him legend status.

He netted at a remarkable rate for the Dutch giants, with there some memorable efforts among his collection that will stand the test of time.

Cruyff would, of course, go on to produce similar heroics at Barcelona before starting to wind down his playing career and turn his attention to management – where further success followed at Ajax and Camp Nou.

A master of his trade and creator of the most famous turn in football, the three-time Ballon d’Or winner sadly lost his battle with lung cancer on March 24, 2016 at the age of 68.
