Usain Bolt laughs off potential A-League move

The world's fastest man has set his sights on the football field but doesn't appear to be interested in a potential move to Australia's A-League competition.

After trialing with German giants Borussia Dortmund, Bolt who retired from athletics last year, is set to return to Germany for further training after seemingly doing enough to impress.

The Jamaican star is a big Manchester United fan and has let it be known he hopes Jose Mourinho signs him one day.

Those currently lofty football ambitions would appear to mean the A-League isn't quite at the stand the 31-year-old is hoping for.

While not ruling out a move down under, Bolt's immediate response to the question of playing in the A-League was laughter followed by a rather vague answer.

"I don't know," Bolt said at a Commonwealth Games press conference on the Gold Coast.

"I try to focus right now on trying to get fit and trying to get a level where I'm comfortable.

"I'm not worried about teams at this present point.

"I'm trying to be assessed and then I'll determine should I play in this league or that league.

"But right now I'm not worried about teams, I'm just trying to get to a level I'm comfortable with and just being a footballer."

Though his football skills are still up for debate, there's no doubt Bolt would be a huge commercial boost to whatever league he finds himself in.
