Ulinzi Stars midfielder Elvis Nandwa non-committal on Golden Boot prospects

Ulinzi Stars midfielder Elvis Nandwa is noncommittal on the prospect of lifting the 2018 Kenyan Premier League Golden Boot.

The Ulinzi Stars leading striker hit his 11th league goal after he grabbed a brace over Gor Mahia on Wednesday.

Despite trailing the league top scorer by only four goals, Nandwa, who is enjoying the best season of his career in the KPL, remained modest when asked about his prospects of lifting the gong.

“I will give my best and see where we get at the end of the season.

“Personally I think it is achievable but the most important thing now is to stay focused on the team goals, do all I can to lift the team, bring in crosses, provide assists and anything else to lift the team,” he said.

Elvis Rupia, formerly with Nzoia Sugar is still leading the table, almost two months after he left KPL for Zambian Premier League.

Gor Mahia’s striker Jacques Tuyisenge is second on the scorers'' chart with 13 goals, one above Ezekiel Odera and Eric Kapaito of AFC Leopards ad Kariobangi Sharks respectively.

Nandwa is tied with Zoo FC forward Nicholas Kipkurui both on 11 goals.
