Ulinzi Stars keeper expected to return after injury scare

Ulinzi Stars keeper Jacktone Odhiambo has been lined up to make a comeback against Posta Rangers in a league match this weekend.

The shot-stopper was carried off the pitch during the soldiers’ 2-1 win against Muhoroni Youth last weekend and coach Benjamin Nyangweso has revealed that the player will be available for selection when they face unbeaten mailmen.

“It wasn’t such a major injury and we will assess him when we return to training on Tuesday. Hopefully he will be okay to get back to training,” Nyangweso told the club’s official website.

Nyangweso has also termed the win against the sugar millers as a great boost as they strive to move top of the league table. The win courtesy of goals from Samuel Onyango and Boniface Onyango took the Army side to 21 points on the log, four behind leaders Gor Mahia.

“We played quite well in that match especially noting it was our third game within a week. We only lost out a bit late on after Brian’s red card but overall, I was pleased with our performance.”

Ulinzi Stars will be seeking for a fourth straight victory when they entertain Posta Rangers on Sunday.
