First set of matches on matchday four has come to an end. Here are the highlights from all those matches.

1) Roma 0-2 Real Madrid:  Gareth Bale and Lucas Vazquez earned Real Madrid a 2-0 win away to Roma that guarantees the Champions League holders first place in Group G.

2) Man United 1-0 Young Boys:  Manchester United secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League as Marouane Fellaini sealed a 1-0 win over Young Boys with a dramatic goal in stoppage time.

3) Bayern Munich 5-1 Benfica:  Bayern Munich qualified for the Champions League knockout stage and relieved the pressure on boss Nico Kovac with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Benfica at Allianz Arena.

4) Lyon 2-2 Man City: Sergio Aguero's late equaliser ensured Manchester City booked their place in the Champions League last 16 with a frantic 2-2 draw at Lyon on Tuesday.

5) Juventus 1-0 Valencia:  Mario Mandzukic's 59th-minute winner earned Juventus a 1-0 victory over Valencia that ensured they booked their place in the knockout rounds.

6) Hoffenheim 2-3 Shakhtar:  Taison's stoppage-time goal gave Shakhtar Donetsk a dramatic 3-2 win over Hoffenheim to keep their Champions League last-16 hopes alive.

7) CSKA Moscow 1-2 Viktoria Plzen:  Lukas Hejda's late goal in a 2-1 win kept Viktoria Plzen's Europa League hopes alive while dumping CSKA Moscow out of the Champions League and sending Real Madrid and Roma through.

8) AEK Athens 0-2 Ajax:  Ajax booked their place in the Champions League knockout rounds with a 2-0 win at 10-man AEK Athens in a match that was marred by violent clashes in the stands.
