Udoh: Enyimba face Akwa United with high expectations

Mfon Udoh, expected to make a return for Enyimba, points out they are going to Uyo to face Akwa United with high expectations.

The People's Elephant captain missed his team’s 4-0 bashing of El Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday so as properly recover from the knock he suffered in the prior game with Nasarawa United but the striker has informed that he is fit and raring to go to ensure that the Aba giants maintain their unbeaten records against the Promise Keepers in Uyo in the last two seasons this term again.

“Akwa United are a tough side and we must give them the credit for the brand of football they have played this season," Udoh told Goal.

"We know any match against them is always tough and this one fixed for Sunday will no doubt be tough. We have so many factors giving us the self-belief that we could walk away with even the three points if we play with our hearts.

"They are yet to beat us in the last two seasons and the fact that they will overtake us in the league table with a win on Sunday is additional motivation urging us on to try and go with the mindset that we could get a good result again,” he continued.

“It is good to be back after missing the last game. We cannot compromise our health for anything in the world and I want to praise the medical team for a job well done. We are promising us all that we are going to make them smile at the end of the encounter on Sunday.”

Enyimba could move to second in the league table if they grab a victory in Uyo on Sunday, with other results in their favour. They are currently third on the table with 41 points from 26 matches.
