Tusker finds balance with a convincing score against Allstars

Tusker sailed to the FKF Shield round of 32 in style following a 7-0 thumping of Taita Taveta All-Stars on Saturday.

The Brewers, who have been struggling on the league front, found a balance when they rounded off their tour of Taita with the last goal from Mathew Odongo , who netted the visitors’ seventh of the evening.

Odongo connected Amos Asembeka’s cross to add to Michael Khamati's sixth goal. The Brewers took the lead in the third minute through former Sony Sugar midfielder Boniface Muchiri, who was set by Sydney Ochieng.

Jackson Macharia came off the bench in place of ‪ Sydney Ochieng to hit a brace as the Brewers marches to the next round in fashionable style.

In the other match of the day, defending champions AFC Leopards beat Shabana FC 2-1 thanks to a brace from Mavin Nabwire while Bandari beat Berlin of Garissa 3-1.

On Friday, Kariobangi Sharks and Posta Rangers booked their places in the round of 32 after registering wins.

Sharks kicked-off their campaign with a 6-0 win over Nanyuki Youth in a match played at Nanyuki Stadium. National U-20 team forward  Sidney Lokale  scored two goals, to add onto a brace by Hillary Otieno and a goal apiece by  Paul Kamau  and Eric Kipkirui, in the 3 pm encounter.

The match was one of five matches played on Friday, with 17 more lined up for Saturday, June 2, 2018, across different venues. Experienced Friendzone FC also gained passage to the round of 32, courtesy of a 3-1 win over FKF Division One League side Naivas FC in post-match penalties.

Kenyan Premier League side  Posta Rangers  also managed a 2-0 win over Trans Mara Sugar while in Nakuru, National U-20 team forward Abraham Dawo scored a brace as NSL side Kenya Police secured a 2-1 win over Nakuru West Combined.
