Tlale: Mbekile and Zwane signings will boost Orlando Pirates team

Goal spoke to Tlale about the duo, who have been linked with the Buccaneers

Former Mamelodi Sundowns  goalkeeper John Tlale believes signing Asavela Mbekile and Siyanda Zwane will boost Orlando Pirates.

“I think they will (boost Pirates). Having played for Sundowns, and if they were to join Pirates it would be good for them because they have been winning major trophies at Sundowns. So, that will be a morale boost for Pirates especially their defence,” Tlale told Goal.

Bucs have so far shipped out Brighton Mhlongo, James Okwuosa, Mahlatse Makudubela to Chippa United, while they have also added Thamsanqa Sangweni, Wayne Sandilands and Christian Obiozor into their squad.

Former Pirates keeper Tlale backed Mhlongo's surprise move to the Chilli Boys.

“I think it’s a good move for him. It is going to boost his confidence because he will be playing regularly. There is also less pressure at Chippa,” Tlale said.

“He couldn’t command a regular position. So, I think the move will boost his him because at Pirates you have to perform well every week when you are a goalkeeper,” he concluded..
