Bafana Bafana and Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo, would be delighted to witness his former teammate Vincent Pule earn his first cap for the senior national team.

The Orlando Pirates attacking midfielder replaced Themba Zwane, who had to withdraw from the Bafana due to injury.

Pule, who has been in rich vein of form with his blistering pace for his new employers, joined the camp alongside Aubrey Modiba (SuperSport United ), Mxolisi Macuphu (Wits) and Tiyani Mabunda (Mamelodi Sundowns).

Asked if there is any particular player that he's interested in seeing come Saturday, Hlatshwayo didn't hesitate as he pointed out the mercurial winger, saying: “He has proven to be capable of doing anything on the pitch."

Pule and Hlatshwayo worked together at Wits, before the skillful winger moved to Pirates at the beginning of the season.

“To some players it might be their first and last call-ups. I spoke to some of them to work harder in order cement their places in the national team. Besides, every player is patriotic. Everyone wants to represent the country in a proper way,” he explained.

Hlatshwayo also expressed his happiness for his club teammate Buhlebuyeza Mkhwanazi, who also cracked the nod following his scintillating displays for Wits this season.

Saturday game will be a top of the table clash for Group E as Libya currently top the standings on superior goal difference following their 5-1 win over Seychelles in their opening fixture.

South Africa are placed second with three points following their historic 2-0 victory over Nigeria.
