The truth about Sierra’s future with Al Ittihad

Many news outlets reported Al Ain’s interest in the Chilean head coach

Al Ittihad’s board of directors have begun their negotiations with head coach Jose Luis Sierra in a bid to extend his contract into the coming seasons.

Many news outlets have already reported that Al Ain are looking at the coach as a possible replacement for Zoran Mamic, who is currently at the helm but looks likely to be sacked after a period of below par performances.

From his side, Hamad Al Sunea the President of Al Ittihad, confirmed that there are no financial differences between Sierra and the club.

Sierra signed for the club in 2016 and it is expected that his contract will end after this season.

He has coached Al Ittihad for 56 matches until now, winning 31 times, tying 13 times and losing on 12 occasions.

Al Ittihad are currently 5th in the Saudi Pro League with 30 points, and succeeded in qualifying to the semi-finals of the Saudi King’s Cup.
