The Covert Agent: Wanderers close to signing Spanish left-back Raul Llorente

Goal's exclusive Australian spy can reveal the Tony Popovic is closing in on a third addition to his team from Spain

Western Sydney Wanderers are set to secure the signature of left-sided Spaniard Raul Llorente to complete their foreign squad additions for the upcoming A-League season.

Llorente, 31, who plays predominantly as a left-back but can also play further forward, is currently on the books of Greek Super League side Platanias, having developed at Atletico Madrid's youth academy.

The Covert Agent can reveal word out of Greece suggests the signing is imminent for Tony Popovic's side.

The inclusion of Llorente would lift the Wanderers' Spanish contingent to three players, with the squad already featuring striker Oriel Riera and winger Alvaro Cejudo,

Popovic is now close to completing his foreign signings for the upcoming campaign, having retained Japanese attacker Jumpei Kusukami and adding former Wellington midfielder Roly Bonevacia.
