TEAM NEWS: Matip & Lallana start for Liverpool, Can sits out

Joel Matip returns from an ankle issue to start at the heart of defence for Liverpool, but Emre Can is sidelined against West Ham.

The midfielder has picked up a knock to his knee, not understood to be serious, and misses Sunday afternoon’s showdown at Anfield, where the Reds have scored 23 times in eight fixtures this season.

Adam Lallana, who came off the bench in the 4-3 defeat at Bournemouth after recovering from a groin injury, replaces him in the XI.

A calf complaint rules Daniel Sturridge out for the fourth game in succession, with 17-year-old Ben Woodburn again earning a place on the bench.
