TEAM NEWS: Mabokgwane and Qalinge start for Pirates, Mabunda returns for Sundowns

Mabokgwane was in goal when Sundowns thumped Pirates 6-0 in the first round, but Jonevret feels he's best suited for this encounter in Soweto

Orlando Pirates head coach Kjell Jonevret has dropped Siyabonga Mpontshane, with Jackson Mabokgwane taking his place in the starting line-up, while Nigerian goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel will be on the bench against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mpontshane had been the preferred choice in recent weeks, but wasn't able to keep cleansheets in his last three matches.

The Swedish mentor has also handed Thabo Qalinge a rare start in midfield, with Thamsanqa Gabuza again leading the attack upfront.

Sundowns on the other hand, have welcomed the return of Tiyani Mabunda into the starting line-up. The central midfielder was struggling with a minor injury in the past few weeks, but he's back to assume responsibilities alongside Hlompho Kekana.

Yannick Zakri has cracked the nod, and will be expected to form a formidable partnership with both Khama Billiat and Percy Tau in the final third.

Orlando Pirates starting line-up: Mabokgwane, Gcaba, Jele, Matlaba, Phungwayo, Sarr, Mobara, Manyisa, Rakhale, Qalinge, Gabuza.

Bench: Daniel, Nyauza, Shitolo, Makola, Norodien, Wome, Ndoro.
