Swansea unlucky with Newcastle draw, says Bony

Wilfried Bony is disappointed with Swansea City’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on Saturday, and has blamed it on ill luck.

Jordan Ayew put Carlos Carvalhal’s men on the driving seat with his 60th minute’s header before Joselu levelled matter for the home team.

And a chance presented itself for Swansea to win the duel but Bony saw his effort cleared off the line by DeAndre Yedlin.

“I think we dropped two points today,” Bony told club website.

“To go home with one point is not bad, but we should have done better. I was frustrated not to take my chances in front of goal today.

“I think we were unlucky not to get the win. That is the way football is sometimes.

“It was a crazy end to the game. We were pushing for the win and I had a chance to get the goal we needed.

“It was like a big present, but the chance was blocked off the line.

“It is a frustration for me not to score. I just have to stay focused.”

The former Manchester City player recently recovered from a hamstring injury and he is pleased to be back playing.

“It is good to get back playing,” he added.

“I played a number of minutes last game [against Wolverhampton Wanderers] and came through today [Saturday] well. I am looking forward to more game-time again soon.”

“We will battle and continue to do our best to get out of the bottom three,” Bony said.

“When luck goes against you, it goes against you. We saw that today, but we need to keep believing and do our best every day," he concluded.
