SuperSport United won’t sell Orlando Pirates target Ronwen Williams

According to reports Matsatsantsa will not sell Williams to the Buccaneers

SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has reportedly been on the radar of Orlando Pirates.

It was previously revealed that Matsatsantsa were mulling over a potential swop deal with the Buccaneers keeper Brighton Mhlongo expected to move in the other direction, and talks were said to be at an advanced stage.

“I believe the negotiations are at an advanced stage right now. The technical team wants to fix their goalkeeping department and Williams has been identified as a perfect signing. He (Mhlongo) already knows about the situation, but the news has not sat well with him,” a source previously told Phakaaathi.

Injuries and the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs keeper Reyaad Pieterse at the beginning of the 2016/2017 campaign saw William’s game time limited. However, it has now been revealed that the Tshwane side has decided against selling the keeper as he wants to remain at the club.

“Ronwen (Williams) is not going anywhere, he loves the team and he wants to stay with the club. Although there is a friendly rivalry with Reyaad Pieterse, both players are enjoying the competition,” a source close to the situation at SuperSport revealed.
