The Owena Whales have hailed the league organisers over its decision to lift it closed-door ban on its home games at the Dipo Dina Stadium

Sunshine Stars have lauded the decision of the League Management Company to temporarily lift the closed door ban on its home matches at the Dipo Dina Stadium.

The Owena Whales were fined one million naira, banished to Ijebu Ode with a closed door ban and goalkeeper David Ariyo suspended for 12 matches for unruliness of players, club officials and violent fans in 1-0 home defeat against Plateau United in June.

But, the LMC reluctantly lifted the closed door ban for its fans to watch two next home matches against Nasarawa United and El Kanemi Warriors respectively in Ijebu Ode.

Interim club chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye says the decision is a welcome development and has pledged to comply with the directives.

"It's a welcome development to allow the fans in for our home games. The club is happy about it," Elegbeleye said in a statement.

"The LMC is living up to expectations. They have been running the league very well. I like the leadership provided by Shehu Dikko, and his team is doing a great job."
