The accomplished tactician indicated that Safa has tried to get three or four coaches in their hunt for the new gaffer of the national team

Bidvest Wits trainer Gavin Hunt has announced SuperSport United mentor Stuart Baxter as the new South Africa head coach.

The English tactician Baxter was expected to meet the South African Football Association (Safa) officials over the Bafana Bafana coaching job this past weekend.

Former PSL Coach of the Year Hunt, who has also been linked with the job, wished Baxter all the best as the new coach of the national team.

‘‘They (Safa) can’t call me can they? They’ve got Baxter already haven’t they?” Hunt said on The Sowetan.

‘‘They have made their decision. They have tried to get three or four coaches and they didn’t get them," he added.

‘‘So they (Safa) are taking Stuart and I wish him well and good luck‚” Hunt continued.

‘‘Obviously they (Supersport United) have made a comment and they have come out and they have said what they have said,” he concluded.
