Stars in his... hair! Pogba shows off new World Cup-themed hairstyle ahead of Premier League bow

The midfielder has paid tribute to his nation's second World Cup triumph with a fresh look as he gets ready for another season with Man United

A new Premier League season is upon us, and what better way for Paul Pogba to mark the occasion than with a fresh hair cut?

The Manchester United star is notorious for chopping and changing his look, a habit that has not always endeared him to certain critics.

A distinctive blue dye job was slammed by former United defender Gary Neville as it came just before a Manchester derby clash against City, although Pogba shrugged off those barbs with a two-goal haul in his side's thrilling 3-2 win.

Graeme Souness, meanwhile, has dismissed the one-time world record signing as a "schoolboy" since returning to Old Trafford from Juventus.

Pogba, however, has never shown any sign of being affected by his detractors, and he has revealed a new distinctive look for the coming weekend's action.

In a lavish video complete with ball skills and plenty of relaxed scenes, Pogba showed how his hairdresser added two silver stars to his hair via Instagram.

"Back home with the two stars," the midfielder wrote, presumably referring to the second World Cup title he helped France lift this summer.

Pogba played a huge part in Les Bleus' first triumph since 1998, bossing the midfield as his team downed the likes of Argentina, Uruguay, Belgium and Croatia on the way to glory.

Now United fans will hope that from Friday's Premier League opener against Leicester onwards, he has a similar impact - indeed, that he helps them reach for the stars.
