Star Sixes: Spain 8-1 Nigeria: Super Eagles suffer Legends World Cup obliteration

Spain have reached the Legends World Cup semi-final after they annihilated Nigeria 8-1 in their quarter-final clash in London on Saturday.

Clipped off injured goalkeeper Peter Rufai, who was injured during the game, the Super Eagles were torn apart by the ruthless Europeans at O2 Arena.

Rufai, who had already let in four goals was replaced by Northern Ireland legend Maik Taylor after he was injured in the course of the game.

Michel Salgado became the competition’s top scorer after netting a hat-trick against the defensively deficient Africans.

Luis Garcia, Alfonso Perez, Carlos Marchena, Gaizka Mendiata and Joan Capdevila also found the back of the net, with Yakubu Aiyegbeni getting the consolation strike but the damage had long since been done.
