St. Finbarrs' College forward, Tijani Rafiu has heaped praises on his teammates for their effort which ensured a 2-1 victory over Anwar-Ul-Islam College to lift the title for the 2017 GTBank’s Masters Cup.
The Akoka side displaced Anwar-Ul-Islam with two first-half goals courtesy of Augustin Ikechukwu and Rafiu before Giwa Sodiq grabbed the consolation goal from the spot kick.
Rafiu who was later awarded the Most Valuable Player for the final game in Onikan Stadium expressed his excitement as he shared secrets for his outstanding performance.
“I feel great and I am very happy because this is my first time of winning this tournament.” Rafiu told Goal.
“Before the game, my coach told me to be focused and I followed his instructions and I also played with my teammates because it is not by my power but God’s power.
“It is not by my strength and I thank my teammates for giving me the opportunity to win this award [Most valuable Player], I very glad with myself.
“I will like to play for Barcelona and Arsenal because I just like their pattern of play. Their game is all about team’s effort.''
