South Africa v Seychelles: Kick off, TV channel, live score, squad news & preview

South Africa have laid a solid foundation so far in this campaign, and they are on of the strong favourites to qualify for next year's Africa Cup of Nations finals.

They take on Seychelles, who are winless after two matches having lost 3-0 in their previous match.

Bafana have already been warned to take six points off the Islanders to avoid putting themselves under pressure in their final two matches of Group E.

It hasn't been easy for Stuart Baxter and the association to prepare for this encounter, with the match clouded by the SABC v Safa saga.

The match at the FNB Stadium will not be shown on any of the SABC platforms after the two parties failed to reach an agreeement for this match.

The South African public hasn't taken the news well, but at least, they will not miss the match completely as the match will still be available to watch in the country.

Squads & Team News

PositionMissing players
Defender Thapelo Morena (injured)
Midfielder Vincent Pule (injured)
Striker Sibusiso Vilakazi (injured)

Baxter has had to deal with several withdrawals from the initial squad he selected.

Sibusiso Vilakazi had to leave the pitch during the practice game against SuperSport United. Bafana won the match 1-0, thanks to Lebo Mothiba's goal.

Vilakazi's place in the squad was taken by Cape Town City winger Gift Links, who has done tremendously at club level.

Thapelo Morena and Vincent Pule were ruled out of the Seychelles tie soon after their arrivals to the camp.

Baxter replaced the duo immediately after being assessed by the medical team, with Thamsanqa Mkhize and Thembinkosi Lorch called up to complete the squad.

It is now up to the technical team to decide if the three new players have done enough to feature against The Pirates.

Potential Bafana XI: Khune, Mphahlele, Hlanti, Hlatshwayo, Mkhwanazi, Furman, Mokotjo, Modiba, Maboe, Tau, Mothiba .

Match Preview

Kamohelo Mokotjo Bafana Bafana v Libya, September 2018

This will be the second meeting between the two nations with Bafana boasting a single win over the Islanders - a 3-0 win over Seychelles more than a decade ago.

Bafana go into the encounter having not conceded a goal in this campaign. They beat Nigeria 2-0 before drawing 0-0 with Libya in their previous match.

Seychelles on the other hand, have conceded a whopping eight goals in just two matches. Their 5-1 drubbing of Libya has been their heaviest defeat thus far.

They have managed to find the back of the net just once in this campaign, but they will want to change that by ensuring that they score against the South Africans.
