Ahead of Sime Darby's first leg FAM Cup final match against UKM FC, the one-time FA Cup finalists are relying on the bond forged within the team to edge their opponents.

The Giant Killers assistant head coach Badrul Afzan Razali said that the team believe that the understanding formed by most of the players, who have been playing together for a while, will see them through against the university club.

"We are composed of players who have played together for two, three years, and we have built that chemistry.

"But we respect UKM as they have reached the final. I hope to see a good, entertaining match," said Badrul in the pre-match press conference on Saturday.

Asked about the side's possible line-up, Badrul responded that they're not expecting a major change, save to replace two defenders who are injured.

"We will be relying on the same line-up that was fielded in the semi-finals earlier, except for the injured defenders Tengku Qayyum [Ubaidillah Tengku Ahmad] and Saiful Hasnol [Raffi]," he explained.

Having helped the team secure promotion to the second tier next season, Sime Darby skipper Juzaili Samion said he is eager to turn up for them again next season although he is 36 years old this year, with the former Malaysia international citing his love for the team which he considers as his family.

"God willing, if the management wants to retain me I'll stay. I've been with them a long time and I've regarded everyone at the team as my own family.

"If the negotiations work out, I will stay," said Juzaili when asked by Goal.

The first leg final match will be held this Sunday, 8.45pm at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi with UKM as the hosts, while the return leg will take place at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium next Sunday. The match will determine the third-tier champions, but as finalists both sides have confirmed their promotion to the Premier League next season.
