Aliou Cisse’s men are hoping to turn around their disappointing run of results at the Leopold Sedar Seghor Stadium on Saturday

Senegal are aiming to make a difference when they take on Sudan in the first of a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations doubleheader, according to captain Cheikhou Kouyate.

The Teranga Lions are yet to record a win since their 2-1 win over Poland in their 2018 Fifa World Cup opener back in June 16.

The west Africans settled for a 2-2 draw against Madagascar in their last international outing in September and are joint Group A leaders with the Barea.

Ahead of Saturday's meeting with Sudan, the Crystal Palace midfielder has declared that they are on a mission to please the fans with a victory.

"We will not hide - we will play a difficult game. It's up to us to please our fans because we come a long way with them," Kouyate was quoted as saying by SuperSport.

"After elimination in the first round of the (Fifa 2018) World Cup, we want to start on a new foundation. But we will not succeed by talking.

"We must work. The Senegalese (people) are frustrated with our performance, which we have displayed. Now we want to make a difference. It starts with a victory on Saturday."
