Sarfo in dilemma over international future

Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Sarfo has revealed that he is uncertain whether he will represent Ghana or Sweden on the international stage following interest from both countries.

The 21-year-old, who was born in Kumasi, signed a four-year deal with Swedish side Malmo FF last month. He was handed his maiden call up to the Black Stars ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia.

However, he declined the invitation when Sweden beckoned to him.

"It's true Swedish FA has contacted me in order to play for them and the process is ongoing" Sarfo told Silver FM.

"I left everything concerning my future to my mother to help in deciding between Sweden and Ghana but unfortunately, she is no more after dying a couple of months ago. So it's now 50-50 chances because I am not certain now but it's left for me to decide for myself," he added.

"I'm happy to have joined the biggest club in Sweden because it's almost every player's dream to play for a big club.

"Actually, my decision to move to Malmo FF was due to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's fame and history with the club some years back. This is because when you go to Sweden, he's very powerful and I can say that he's even bigger than several people in the country," he said.

Sarfo was on the score sheet for Malmo on his debut in a 3-3 stalemate against Sirius.
