Asante Kotoko's ambition to defeat Hearts of Oak and lift the 2017 Ghana FA Cup trophy has been dealt a big blow after striker Sadick Adams limped off the pitch in their last training session at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Saturday.
The 27-year-old has been the poster boy of the Kumasi giants since joining the team in mid-season from Berekum Chelsea, scoring twice against the Phobians in the President Cup and league.
However, reports from Tamale suggest that one of the reasons why Sadick was forced out of the session and taken to the sidelines for further assessment was part of Kotoko's mind games to surprise their rivals.
Hearts were supposed to have a feel of the stadium before Kotoko, but they arrived late and waited in the stands watching their rivals train, which the Kumasi giants frowned at.
Goal can also confirm that there was a little scuffle at the Tamale Sports Stadium after Kotoko later refused to vacate the field for Hearts to train but calm was restored thanks to the intervention of the FA Cup committee members.
Even if the former Atletico Madrid youth star don't start on Sunday, Kotoko will be hoping to throw him into the game in the second half since he is one of the penalty experts in their fold aside skipper Amos Frimpong.
