Mamelodi Sundowns are certainly thinking about the future as they have tied down two of their players.
Brazilian defender Ricardo Nascimento and 22-year-old Sphelele Mkhulise have committed their futures to Sundowns after agreeing to new deals.
Nascimento has penned a three-year-deal while Mkhulise has signed a five-year-deal as a reward for his rise up the Sundowns ranks.
Mkhulise, a product of Sundowns’ youth academy was loaned out last season, but on his return to Chloorkop, he has impressed Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane.
Mkhulise even earned himself a start in Sundowns’ MTN8 first leg semi-final, although they would eventually be beaten on penalties after drawing on aggregate against Cape Town City.

Meanwhile, Nascimento has become a massive part of Sundowns’ backline over recent seasons and led them to an eighth league triumph despite missing a large portion of the season through injury.
This season alone, the experienced defender has already netted two goals in the league thus far and he is the club’s current top scorer.
Moreover, the 31-year-old has made over 50 appearances for Sundowns since joining the Tshwane giants in 2016. He has sice formed a stable partnership, particularly with Wayne Arendse.
However, competition for places at Sundowns is stiff this season especially after the July/August transfer window.
Sundowns made eight new acquisitions during the window, which included the likes of Mosa Lebusa, Toni Silva, Phakamani Mahlambi and Jose Ali Meza among others.
Nevertheless, in spite of the changes during the offseason it has been a less than impressive start to the new season for the Tshwane giants.
Sundowns have been eliminated from the Caf Champions League as well as the MTN8, and have only registered one win out of three in the Premier Soccer League.
