Red-hot Mbaye Diagne continues dominance in Turkish Super Lig

Mbaye Diagne maintained his dominance at the top of the Turkish Super Lig goalscorers' chart with a brace in Kasimpasa’s 2-2 draw against Fenerbahce.

The 27-year-old leads the way with 16 goals from 14 matches so far – eight more than second-placed Goztepe star Yasin Oztekin.

The former Tianjin Teda forward opened the scoring for Kasimpasa 22 minutes into the game thanks to Mahmoud Trezeguet’s fifth assist of the season.

Just before half time, Roman Neustadter's effort and Ozgur Cek's own goal fired Fenerbahce ahead.

But Diagne ensured the visitors avoid their third defeat of the season, leaving Istanbul with a point after his 54th-minute effort.

Nigeria's Emem Eduok was also in action for Kasimpasa while Algeria's Islam Slimani, on loan from Leicester City, featured for the hosts.

Kasimpasa remain second in the Turkish top-flight table behind Istanbul Basaksehir with 26 points from 14 matches. They host Kayserispor in their next league fixture on Monday after Thursday's Cup game against Menemen Belediyespor.
