Posta Rangers has regretted letting goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo leave in January.
Shikhalo moved to Bandari after finding playing time hard to come by at Rangers, but the ‘reject’ has now turned out to be the rare gem that coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo is desperately looking for.
Shikhalo boasts of the best record in the Kenyan Premier League,13 clean sheets and the least number of goals conceded so far - at just 14.
On the contrary, Rangers have conceded a total of eight goals in the last four games in all competitions; making it an average of two goals per game.
The poor record is not only a cause of concer to coach 'Pamzo' but the fans too, considering the fine defensive record the team had last season.
But 'Pamzo' seems to know exactly where the rain started beating him. "My main problem has been in the defensive department, it has played a part in our results.
“Remember we lost Martin Musalia, Patrick Matasi and Farouk Shikhalo and we did not have time to shape the department as it should. It has come to haunt us, because even the goals we conceded to me they were easy ones.
"Before the season ends we have to do something as soon as possible to ensure we avoid a repeat of the same," 'Pamzo' told Goal.
Posta Rangers will face Gor Mahia in their next league match on Friday .
