Peter Olayinka, Joseph Akpala score as KV Oostende hold Zulte-Waregem

The Nigerian forwards grabbed a goal each as their teams settled for a share of the spoils at the Regenboogstadion

Joseph Akpala and Peter Olayinka found the back of the net as Zulte-Waregem were held to a 1-1 draw against KV Oostende in Sunday's Belgian First Division A game.

Olayinka continued from where he stopped against Waasland-Beveren in the previous week, with a well-placed header that gave Francky Dury’s side the lead in the 25th minute .

The 22-year-old forward has now registered seven goals in 19 league games so far this campaign.

Eight minutes later, Akpala equalised for the visitors after directing his free-header past goalkeeper Sammy Bossut.

The Nigerians’ efforts were the only difference at the Regenboogstadion as both sides settled for a point apiece.

Zulte-Waregem are placed 12th in the Belgian top-flight table with 28 points from 25 games – two points above KV Oostende who are placed 14th.
