Angers are aiming to write history when they face Paris Saint-Germain in the Coupe de France final on Saturday night.
Stephane Moulin's side have never before lifted the trophy and, indeed, it is 60 years since Angers contested the Coupe de France final. Paddy Power make the outsiders a 15/2 (8.50) chance to secure the silverware, while the same firm go 12/1 (13.0) that Angers win inside 90 minutes - meanwhile, there is 6/1 (7.0) that the tie remains all square at the end of normal time.
PSG, of course, have a rich history of domestic success. Unai Emery's men are 10-time winners of this competition and head to Stade de France hoping to complete a hat-trick of Coupe de France wins, having won the trophy in both of the last two seasons.
The need for victory here has been intensified by PSG's failure to take the Ligue 1 title this term, with Monaco crowned as champions instead, and, as such, Emery's men will be desperate for success here.
Paddy Power make PSG overwhelming 1/20 (1.05) favourites to lift the Coupe de France for a third successive season, while the odds compilers offer just 1/6 (1.17) that the Parisians win the match in normal time.
PSG's route to the final has been supremely comfortable and, indeed, they underlined their Cup credentials with a crushing 5-0 victory against Monaco at the semi-final stage last month. Emery's men have scored an impressive 22 goals in the competition so far this season and have yet to concede.
PSG may have relinquished the league title, but Emery's men come into this clash brimming with belief, for they have lost just one of their last 13 games and they have hit 34 goals in their last nine victories - that fine form in the final third of the pitch could well prove pivotal this weekend and the odds compilers offer 10/11 (1.91) that PSG score more than two goals in Saturday's showpiece.
The Parisians have won each of their last three matches against Angers, recording two 2-0 victories in Ligue 1 this term. The offer is 11/2 (6.50) that Emery's men make it a hat-trick of 2-0 wins, with 4/7 (1.57) that PSG win by, at least, a two goal margin this weekend.
Emery's outfit are red-hot favourites to secure the silverware, but the price for a PSG win is prohibitive. Better value, therefore, may lie in backing PSG to score three or more goals against Angers at 10/11 (1.91) ahead of Saturday's showdown from the French capital.
