Sean Dyche’s Clarets are on a historic European tour, but our tipster fancies Pedro Martins’ Thrylos to keep the Premier League side quiet in Greece

Olympiakos welcome Burnley to Greece on Thursday night for the first leg of this Europa League play-off clash.

The Super League outfit are 50/1 (51.0) to win the competition for the first time while Sean Dyche's men are even bigger outsiders at 80/1 (81.0).

This hardly comes a surprise considering the tournament that includes London giants Chelsea and Arsenal, last season’s finalists Marseille plus Sevilla, who have won it on three occasions in the last five years.

Latest odds

The hosts are well-fancied for this match; they are 6/10 (1.6) to win the first leg and 8/13 (1.62) to qualify.

Burnley, meanwhile, are 17/4 (5.25) to record a shock victory at the Karaiskakis Stadium and 5/4 (2.25) to reach the Group Stages in their first European adventure since 1967.

A first leg draw in the first ever meeting between these sides is 13/5 (3.6).

Team News

Striker Miguel Angel Guerrero, who netted a brace in the win over Luzern in the previous round, is one to watch, as is midfielder Guilherme, who earned the nickname ‘Pitbull’ during his time in Spain for his commitment and tenacity.

Matej Vydra have been registered for the play-off round and added to the Clarets' squad list, so could feature here as Dyche will surely rotate following his side's 3-1 Premier League defeat on Sunday.

Goalless at the break?

Five of Burnley’s last eight away games have been 0-0 at half-time and a repeat here is 7/5 (2.40).

We can expect the Clarets, who could give their opponents a challenging evening at Turf Moor in a week, will be desperate to hold on for a first leg draw and that could dictate proceedings in the opening period.

Preview and predictions

Our best bet is the 5/6 (1.83) on Olympiakos keeping a clean sheet; the Attica outfit have achieved that feat in each of their last four home games while their East Lancashire visitors have failed to score in each of their last two on the road.
