Olarenwaju’s brace fires Austria Wien past Sturm Graz

The Super Eagles forward scored two goals in the second half to help the Violets continue their winning streak on Saturday

Kayode Olarenwaju scored his first brace of the season as Austria Wien secured a 4-1 victory at home to Sturm Graz.

Austria Wien secured their 18th win of the season to move to the second spot on the Bundesliga log with 56 points, whilst Salzburg remain at the summit despite draw.

Kayode scored the third and fourth for the Violets in the 54th and 57th minute after Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and Petar Filipovic’s first half goals had given Thorsten Fink’s men the lead.

​However, Baris Atik pulled one back for the visitors in the 60th minute. 13 minutes later, the Violets were reduced to 10-men as Lukas Rotpuller was given the marching order for a second caution.

The strikes were the former Maccabi Netanya’s man 12th and 13th strike of the season as he equalled his record goal tally in his sixth season in Europe.

The 23-year-old boasts of 29 appearances – in all competitions so far this campaign, whilst he’s made 23 starts.
