Okraku denies interest to succeed Nyantakyi as GFA president

Ghana Football Association executive committee member Kurt Okraku has revealed that he is not ready to vie for the position as president despite growing reports in the local media.

The Dreams FC president, who doubles as the chairman of Ghana FA Cup committee, has been touted as one of the fast-rising football administrators and an ideal candidate, aside George Afriyie, Fred Pappoe, Kudjo Fianoo and Randy Abbey but he has rejected the suggestions.

Although he dropped a huge hint on Monday, he later insisted he has no interest in the position.

“I will not be Ghana Football Association's president in 2019 [after Kwesi Nyantakyi finally bows out]," Okraku was quoted as saying by Classfmonline.

"I’m not interested in that job or position. I have no interest in it and wouldn't contest,” he added.

Nyantakyi, who ascended the FA top seat in December 2005 after replacing Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, has confirmed he will not seek for another tenure when his time elapses in 2019, after serving three terms.
