Idowu, 24, has been with the Zvezda Stadium outfit since 2010 and his previous deal was expected to expire in June 2017.
Upon signing the contract, the Russian-born Nigerian was quoted by club website saying: “I’m grateful to Amkar for the proposal to the extend the contract.
“I'm comfortable in Perm, I like the atmosphere in the team and the stadium, and to discuss a new contract detail took quite a bit of time.
“I hope to be able to justify the trust placed in me,” he added.
Idowu is a cog member of Gadzhi Gadzhiyev’s side having appeared 16 times, scoring once in the Russian topflight this season.
The Red and Blacks, placed sixth on the log, will visit Ural for their next league encounter on March 5.
