The skipper admitted that she felt they would not qualify for the final of the school competition

Following their 5-3 victory over Sanya Senior Grammar School, Government Senior Secondary School's Victory Odalumen reveals she lost hope in all except God and her goalkeeper.

Both sides, from Agege, were unable to find the back of the net after full time.

And with the game down to shootouts, Government Senior Girls' Esther Ogbe saved the one of Sanya Senior's spot kick to lead his side to the final of the GTBank Principals Cup.

"I'm very happy because our coach used to tell us that whenever we are playing we should always put God first because it's only God that can do everything," Odalumen told Goal.

"I told my players, as the captain, that we can do it and we can only put our hope in God and our goalkeeper that if she can help us the rest of us can scale through.

"The team we played today are really strong and they also tried their best, but as far as we put our trust in God and also contribute our best, we'll win.
