Obaje eager for FC Ifeanyi Ubah return against Nasarawa United

The Anambra Warriors’ highest scorer has expressed his delight at his return from his break for the tie with the Solid Miners.

After missing his team’s last two matches with Gombe United and Abia Warriors, FC Ifeanyi Ubah's leading goal scorer, Godwin Obaje has expressed his desire to return with a bang against Nasarawa United this weekend in Nnewi.

Obaje was excused to go ahead with the preparations for his wedding ceremony which took place last month immediately after their 0-1 loss to Plateau United and after also unable to make the Anambra Warriors’ following two matches owing to post- wedding break with his wife, the striker has revealed that he is now ready to contribute his quota to the team if he is picked against the Solid Miners.

“I have resumed training after some weeks off for my wedding ceremony. I have returned a better player now and I am eager to help my club. I had to go ahead with the wedding plans even though the season is still on because activities earmarked for it had been concluded before now and it can’t be shelved,” Obaje told Goal.

“After my inability to play our last two games, I am eager to come back against Nasarawa United if the technical crew calls on me. It will be an honour to add to my 12 goals this weekend.

“FC Ifeanyiubah didn’t do well in the last few games but we still have what it takes to rub shoulders with those currently in the top five. We have the players to get the job done.  Nasarawa United won’t have it easy coping with us.

“They may be coming with confidence that they can get a result in Nnewi because they are not a bad side either but we are encouraged by the fact that we will like to avenge our defeat to them in Lafia before our fans.”
