Club director Fred Pappoe has reiterated their readiness to pursue their legal case against the GFA to the latter

Great Olympics are not ready to back down on their quest to be reinstated into the Ghana Premier League, club director Fred Pappoe has stressed.

One of three demoted clubs from the topflight last season, the “Dade’ Boys have been forced to go to court over the GFA Disciplinary Committee’s decision to throw out protests against Bechem United and Elmina Sharks.

On Monday, the club served an injunction notice to the FA, which has thrown the launch of the upcoming league season in disarray.

“Nobody can intimidate Great Olympics, I dare anyone to do so,” Pappoe told Asempa FM.

“We are not contesting Bechem United, we are dealing with the FA.

“I don't think there is anyone at the FA who doesn't wish me well. Great Olympics is not afraid of relegation. We have no problem going to relegation on merit.

“It was not our intention to make any club inconvenient [the league] but this is an issue we have to deal with. We were compelled to go to court because the GFA was not ready to resolve the issue.

“The GFA was ready to go ahead and play the league without Great Olympics, so we had to go to court. We will defend ourselves from any unfair sanctions meted to us.”

Last season, Olympics finished second from bottom on the table, but a ruling in their favour will do well to keep them in the elite division.
