Bala Nikyu's side have been decamped for a brief recess after recent U17 Women's World Cup qualifier triumph over Ethiopia

Nigeria U17 women team on Wednesday embarked on a two-week break after they progressed to the final phase of the Fifa U17 Women's World Cup qualifier.

Last Saturday, the Flamingoes scaled through to the final qualifying round on away goal despite they were held to a 0-0 draw by Ethiopia in Benin City.

However, the Nigeria Football Federation approved a two-week break for the Bala Nikyu's girls in order to celebrate Christmas.

At the end of the break, the players are expected back in camp on January 3, 2018 – a month to their first encounter in the final round clash with Cameroon in February next year in Benin City.

On the other hand, Cameroon hammered Algeria 4-0 in first leg clash in Algiers before thrashing them 7-0 in the reserve encounter in Yaounde to advance.

Nikyu's side will play host to the junior Lionesses at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on February 3 before traveling to Yaounde for the second leg two weeks later.
