Nigeria friendly good for Poland’s World Cup preparation - Wojciech Szczesny

The White and Reds are set to square up against the west African country in their preparation for this year’s World Cup in Russia

Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has stated the importance of Poland’s pre-World Cup  friendly game against Nigeria.

Both countries - preparing for their outing in the global showpiece - are scheduled to meet for the first time at the Municipal Stadium Wroclaw on Friday.

Poland will begin their 2018 Fifa World Cup campaign against Senegal at the Otkritie Arena on June 19.

And the former Arsenal shot-stopper has highlighted how the encounter against the three-time Africa Cup of Nations champions can help Adam Nawalka’s team who also have Colombia and Japan to contend with in Group H.

“We [Poland] definitely lack experience when it comes to playing with teams from Asia and Africa,” Szczesny told Polsat Sport.

“At this stage of preparation, everything is thought out and help us implement tactical assumptions and practice setting against teams, which way of playing are similar to those we will face in a group."

Nigeria will be hoping to continue their impressive build up to their sixth World Cup appearance after defeating Argentina 4-2 in November 2017
