Niger Tornadoes were lucky to defeat Gombe United, says Bala

Ikon Allah's coach says his side were fortunate to secure victory against the Savannah Scorpions in Lokoja on Sunday

Niger Tornadoes head coach Abubakar Bala has admitted that his side were lucky to secure maximum points against Gombe United at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium.

Ifeanyi Okoye’s effort was all Ikon Allah needed to earn a hard-fought home win against struggling Manu Garba’s men on Sunday.

And the tactician lauded his players for sticking to details and assured they will maintain their fine run in coming games.

“It was a difficult one. We were very lucky to run away with three points,” Bala told Goal.

“It was a very tough one we must admit. The most important thing is for the team to play together as a unit and to play according to the coaches' instructions.

“As far as I’m concerned, the boys are doing well. They are improving and blending well very fast.
