Newcastle United keen on Cameroon's Vincent Aboubakar

English Premier League side Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Cameroonian forward Vincent Aboubakar from FC Porto.

Rafael Benites is looking to create a more competitive squad environment and believes that Aboubakar will add quality to his existing attacking options.

The attacker recently had a spectacular season in front of goal, scoring 19 goals across all competitions for Super Lig winners Besiktas where he was on loan from Porto.

According to SunSport, the Magpies are ready to launch a £9 million bid for the 25-year-old after Aboubakar’s proposed move to Ligue 1 side Rennes collapsed over the forward's £2.5million a year wage demands.

Currently, Aboubakar is on international duty with Cameroon at the Fifa Confederations Cup.
