Nickson Omondi immediate target will be to break into the Kariobangi Sharks first team.

Omondi joined the 2018 FKF Shield Champions from National Super League side, Police FC where he had established himself as one of the most exciting prospects of the division.

But Omondi now finds himself in a tricky situation where he will have to compete with among other Bolton Omwenga in the left back as Sharks prepare to make their debut at the continental stage beside challenging for their maiden Kenyan Premier League title.

“Where I am coming from I was a regular starter, so my first target is to break into the starting team and establish myself as regular. I just want to do my best to make sure the team gets better,” Omondi told Sharks official website.

Omondi further revealed that his personal relationship with coach Wiliam Muluya influenced his decision to join Sharks.

“The major reason that made me join Sharks is the relationship I have with Coach Kanu (Muluya). He has been my coach when I was playing at the under 12 and under 14 categories so to get the opportunity to work with him again is good for me.

“The captain received me well on day one like a big brother. Then I also got a few friends in the team who I have played with before. I have grown in the same hood with Oyemba (John) and Harrison (Mwende), I have also played with Patilla (Omotto) and (Erick) Kapaito in local tournaments. So it has been warm for me.
