Victory over Nasarawa United has eased pressure, says Biffo

The Ucendo Babes trainer says his side's victory over the Solid Miners in Umuahia was a huge relief in their fight to avoid relegation

Abia Warriors head coach Abdullahi Biffo admits his side's 2-0 victory against Nasarawa United eased the pressure of dropping into the relegation zone.
Sunday Adetunji netted a brace to end the Uchendu Babes losing streak at the Umuahia Township Stadium and the former Niger Tornadoes coach hailed his boys’ spirited display.
"The victory came at the right time and coupled with the fact that we lost our last two games on the road," Biffo told media.
"We were under immense pressure after losing those two games to deliver [on Sunday]. We know we are not safe from relegation and needed to win. It was a difficult match but my players gave a good account of themselves.
"The boys stepped up to win against a good side like Nasarawa United. This will ease the pressure on us against relegation heading into the next game."
Abia Warriors are 10th on the log with 38 points from 28 games, while Nasarawa United are ninth with same points despite above them on superior goals.
