MVP Ernest Promise rues Anwar-UI-Islam defeat in GTBank's Masters Cup final

The 15-year-old expressed disappointment after his side missed out of the top prize of the football competition

Anwar-Ul-Islam College forward Promise Ernest said he feels ' heart-broken' and disappointed with his performance after Anwar-Ul-Islam conceded a 2-1 defeat to St. Finbarrs' College in the GTBank's Master Cup final on Thursday.

Giwa Sodiq scored the consolation goal for the Agege outfit in the second half after Augustin Ikechukwu and Tijani Rafiu had put St. Finbarrs' ahead in the first half.

Ernest expressed his displeasure with his performance as he struggled to find the back of the net in the encounter but the forward who was awarded the Most Valuable Player of the tournament feels his side played well but were unlucky to take the day.                                                                               

“I feel heart-broken because I can’t express how I feel right now," Promise told Goal.

“My personal performance was very poor and I am disappointed with myself. Things didn’t just work out in our favour because we performed well today."
