Henry Onyekuru has declared Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi as a ‘huge inspiration’ to him while growing up.

The former Chelsea star has won the English Premier League, Uefa Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup, Community Shield and the League Cup.

The Anderlecht forward who made his international debut in Nigeria’s 1-1 stalemate with Algeria in their last World Cup qualifying game on Friday is excited to play along with the Tianjin Teda midfielder.

Onyekuru took to the social media to reminisce about the numerous achievements of the 30-year-old while admitting that the playmaker has been an inspiration to him and other youngsters.

“I remember watching this guy play, Winning premier league titles and being a huge inspiration to me and many other kids,” Onyekuru tweeted.
